What progress? Corporations are more concerned about making money, not moving anything forward. Why do you think it is so hard for businesses to evolve and change with the market? A corporation, by design, is inflexible unless ridiculously small, which prevents shareholder profitability due to retooling and retraining costs.

There is little difference between a corporation and a parasite that will kill its host.
