I appreciated https://www.youtube.com/@TheInfographicsShow for the person that does their narration to do a short introduction to show they’re a human. Also all new videos start with a short 10-20 second clip of him narrating so you know its him. Otherwise they’ve been using the same art style for so long that I imagine they recycle 90% of their graphical assets.
I just assume AI videos will follow suit and declare themselves “no AI” pretty soon.
They already do.
Already noticed that the “AI” flag is nearly worthless.
There a channel I watch regularly that has used a synthetized voice forever, and despite predating the AI that is controversial, it is flagged.
Then noticed a family member watching an AI song and not flagged as AI at all.
I, at least, am generally okay with a text-to-voice narration that was written by a person as long as the primary content (the script and the video itself) are not AI generated, and they are not reproducing a real person’s voice without that person’s consent or knowledge.
Right but how do we know?
They could pay another human to read the thing for them, so not much changes
I mean how do we know the content is human written and AI-read rather than wholly generated?
Usually it’s easy to know because it will say bullshit, say uncomprensible stuff, it will contradict itself and lie
Is YouTube actually at this point? I know a couple channels I follow have started using AI more widely, at least in thumbnails, specifically because it gets more clicks.
i wonder how many of this “clicks” are actually ai generated themselves to promote the use of AI in said videos Oo
I just unsubscribe if a channel start using AI thumbnails
A segment certainly is. Of all the channels that I generally keep tabs on. Only one that I don’t view very often has ever used AI generated thumbnails to my knowledge. Every other single one is just doing basic thumbnails or standard YouTuber thumbnails. But nothing AI. If I see a video that’s largely just random Clips strung together with a sus voice. I’m thumbs-downing and leaving immediately.
Family is a different story. Most of them I believe generally do the same. My father regularly gets sucked into one AI video or another. Though he’s kind of cutting back on it. Seeing as any time one of us is around. We pick up instantly on AI voice stutters mispronunciations or ridiculous bullshit in the AI generated videos. Instantly laughing and ridiculing them. He had one on recently talking about folk Legends of indigenous peoples of the americas. And at one point they were talking about a tribes cat-man mythos. When the AI video cut to an interior scene that look like it was in a museum. And in the museum there was a bust in a glass case. And on the bus was a cow that looked exactly like Batman’s only it had a few sketchy Native American looking motifs sort of plastered in places. But it was a literal fucking Batman cowl. We just about died laughing.
