Those white girls were, initially, dismissed by the police with the typical reasons. When concerns were raised, there was a reluctance to treat them seriously because those with responsibility were worried about perceptions of racism due to the race of those accused.
In the end, the police did investigate and got convictions. I just described the Rotherham case, I think there was another with some similarities.
I’ve never heard any international comparisons, and as far as I remember, white people commit more child sexual abuse in the UK per capita than other races, but obviously that doesn’t stop the right wing weaponising it.
