not literally. they aren’t going on about how their mortgage is 3543.22 and they refinanced to 3212.35.
but they will like, say how they can’t move because they are locked in because of low rates and they religiously follow the mortgage rates changes and housing prices, and how they can’t afford the home they want, or multiple homes they want. or the remodel on their kitchen, that they want.
they will like sit there and asses other people’s houses, their value, what they are doing with them, why they are wrong/right, etc. endlessly. I can’t walk down the street with my sister without her commenting on every third house and if she would buy it or not.
i own a condo and I honestly never talk about it and people think I’m the weirdo. I also want to buy a small home, and never really talk about it. Most people want to talk for hours about it. I just… find the whole process/ideal super boring. like I don’t care about the sq ft of the bathrooms or whatever.
for most people home ownership is a huge part of their identity and they are totally preoccupied with it and comparing themselves to everyone else’s home and whether or not their home is better or worse.
Dang this happens to me all the time lol.
Sounds like you should stop. Like you’re being weird
Not even like objectively weird. Just that particular group has (apparently) shown they are not receptive.
Stop doing things your friend group has shown they don’t appreciate. And, if those things are important to you, then find a different friend group.
Same, not about over sharing just general chitchat.
Then again pretty much everyone else in the group is mortgaged, married and has kids and that’s all they talk about
Do people really talk about their mortgages? Ive got one but have never mentioned it in conversation

I dunno man, personal health and upcoming surgeries are pretty high up as well.
Those subjects are probably about 5-10 years away
Oh, to be young again.
Age sneaks up on you right quick doesn’t it?
