Doctors say all sorts of things.
The fundamental premise of prescribing medication is that the best medication is no medication.
Like if someone’s depressed, they should try talking it out before taking anti-depressants.
Once you accept that premise then the doctor’s job is to motivate people to try talking to a friend, or exercising, before prescribing any medication.
“A person who’s feeling sad is much more likely to make a full recovery just talking to a friend a few times a week than someone who starts anti-depressants”
That doesn’t mean that anti-depressants aren’t appropriate for someone who’s really going through it and has exhausted other forms of therapy.
Oh man. The last part of my comment is a joke. Im mocking you. You seem like you’d be really fun at parties. Go shitsplain jokes to someone else.
You’re right, I don’t know him, but I still think you’re making up a deeper level of humor that wasn’t intended.
“Luckily the good guys have won every single time” is a very direct jab at historians always casting themselves as the good guys.
You’re all up in here like “wull ackshually this is a post modern commentary on feminism because he’s used the gendered phrase ‘guys’ and you just wouldn’t get it because reasons”.
Ill have to take your word for it. As written, it doesn’t seem that way to me at all.
The joke refers to the addage that history is written by the victor, but that just isn’t true.
Indeed.
Also just naive to think that there are “good guys” and “bad guys”. When you dig into the nuance of any conflict its almost always complicated.

I assumed it was a generated image.
At the very least, the water is too green.
If it happens to be legit, no they’re not scooping algae because they don’t have anything to scoop it into.
That said, during algal blooms in estuaries et cetera physically removing it is part of the process. If a healthy estuary is free of whatever variety of algae, but it gets infested somehow for example due to fertiliser run off from farms, then stopping the fertiliser may not be enough to solve the problem because the estuary is clogged up with algae.
