I’ve had military issues gear do this.
It’s a type of foam that does it, it just slowly falls apart over time.
A friend loaned me his ski boots, that he hadn’t worn in a couple years, and the internal insulation liner had crumbled.
The Logitech Headset I fucking love is doing this as well. I can replace the pillows, but the liner on the head bar is also peeling.
Some of it is the manufacturer saving money on cheaper materials, some of it is the vender selling shitty materials to the manufacturer because they think lasting 1-2 years is good enough and no one will notice.
Like home developers making super shitty quality homes, knowing they only need to last 10 years, when their warranty runs out.
I spend $140 for a fucking headset, it better last more than a few years.
But to your point, fuck them, it’s fucking bullshit.
I spoke to a therapist about this. They said that it is a pretty common mechanism that the mind will use to provide a sense of control to someone that has been cheated on and still has trust issues.
So the way I understand it, is if you were cheated on and have trust issues, watching cuck porn helps your mind feel like it has control of that emotion?
I don’t have that issue, but I do have PTSD and my mind does some really weird shit sometimes to make sense of problematic emotions.
So, it seems logical to me that this could be true, considering my own experience with my brain’s subconscious mental gymnastics.
