As somebody who don’t know anything about them, what are things people don’t realize when they want tarantulas as a pet?

Everyone is used to what they normally use, though I’m originally from Europe, living in US for most of my life and while visiting my country recently I used a car rental. I think having card reader on the gas distributor is better.

I noticed two issues. Once is that people almost always left their car next to the distributor when going to pay, so I had to wait until they were done, then when I went to pay I had to wait in line, because nearly everyone also was purchasing additional items from the store (I guess this approach has plus for the owner as they can make much more from the convenience store).

With the card reader on the distributor the whole process was much shorter and I was on my way as soon as the fueling finished.

It depends where you leave in Europe or seems to work that way in US you have card readers on the distributors or need to go to the attendant and pay in advance with cash. I think there’s also an option (or at least the attendant let me) to leave your DL, then fuel your car and then pay and get you DL back.

It is also made up. In US you must swipe your credit card first before you can start fueling, or pay the attendant cash in advance.

Although I suppose some attendants might make an exception when you leave your driver’s license with then, but then you also would be driving away without DL.

Those messages I see from tankies while China and Russia are very racist. Russia even one of the biggest Nazi concentrations. Even right now putin is especially recruiting non ethnic Russians from Asia regions to send to Ukraine and can afford losing so many people because ethnic Russians didn’t care about them in face they hate them.

Racism is everywhere not just in America, it is just hotter issue on USA, because maybe leaders does fight it and it upsets racists. In other countries (especially more homogenous) it is often accepted by everyone as normal.

Do they have a need to communicate with you?

If so, you can just not install WhatsApp. Smartphones allow them to install multiple communicating apps, so your friends could remember to use signal when talking to you.

This is done on purpose, to make people to switch to their e-mail or use them for hosting.

Google did the same thing with XMPP (they were welcomed when they joined, then they made it so XMPP users couldn’t message GTalk/Hangouts users, but the other way worked), they tried similar thing with Usenet, but they never get dominance there so they let their services to be major source of spam on Usenet until they were blocked, ultimately removing Usenet indexing from Google).

I would really encourage to contact our local reps (both federal as well as state) and encourage them to introduce legislation that would punish this practice.

I’ve been hosting my e-mail for over 2 decades now, e-mail goes everywhere but gmail (despite working with them for years). They are doing it exactly so people stop doing it.

It’s basically the same thing Google did with XMPP.

I have this problem for a while as well. Similar to you all mechanisms are implemented multiple sites say the configuration is correct, even headers in Gmail say DKIM and SPF passed. E-mail arrives everywhere except for gmail.

Actually this reminded me when I was driving toward such a small town via local freeway. There was a car that visibly tried to upset drivers driving slow when they tried to pass it they sped up. After observing it for a while I noticed there was a cop car driving in front. As soon as the freeway ended and transitioned into residential area the cop car drove into first parking lot and went the opposite way back to freeway, the car that tried to upset drivers followed them and did the same maneuver. At that point it was clear they were working together.

It is a thing. Now, locals might be ignoring it, but that’s because they know where it is unlikely they will get caught. If you’re not a local it is better to keep it or at most drive the same speed as everyone else.

I’ve been in Poland recently and the speed signs seem to be designed to make very hard to maintain them, like they want to have easy way to ticket anyone.

Like you’re driving, there’s 70km/h then 50 then 70, then 90, then 50 (pedestrian crossing, it is always 50) then 90 and all within short distance. I noticed that many drivers either go faster over 50 zones or if they in 90 zone go slower so they don’t have to reduce speed from 90 to 50.

In US (or at least in California) seems to be more stable. So you have 35mph on roads, 25 on residential areas (usually you don’t go through them unless you’re reaching your destination) and 65 on freeway. There might be some signs that modify the speed (make it higher or lower depending on condition of the road) but it feels justified.

I also visited Czechia and their speed limits seem to be more reasonable and easier to follow.
