Everyone uses their own system, in my country sharing via torrent (as long as there is no profit) is not a legal problem, so instead of VPN I use duckdns and ngix proxy manager for access, with two manuals and a couple of afternoons to get everything working everything goes great
This is the way to go. Getting transmission behind a VPN was a bit tricky but it was so worth it
