    How to change the appearance of posts? I don’t see the option. Neither in the main page, nor in a post.

      There should be a “view” dropdown menu next to the “location” and “sort” dropdowns where you can switch between “cozy” and “compact”. If you’re on mobile, there is currently a bug where the dropdown is hidden. I’m working on fixing it, but you should just be able to rotate your phone and it should show up.

        Okay…there is a bug. Yes, when i was on mobile. And when I turn my phone it’s there!! Didn’t think of doing that before. Thanks for the tip mate!

        And another thing…may I give you a tip about the coding/experience? When you answer me, I see it in my profile under messages. There I only see the profile picture of who texted me. But no profile name. Would be nice to see the nick of who actually texted you.

        Also a function of auto saving texts/comments. Like I’m starting to write this comment here, then go to my profile to make sure I only see the profile picture of who texted me (and not the nick), come back here and the text is gone. Would be nice if it saves automatic like in 9gag or you have a button to save the drafts.

        It’s a some input from a noob about coding. So if it doesn’t make sense to you, ignore it. I’m not trying to badmouth your project or anything. It’s very neat what you are trying to do here. I support it. Let’s make a better 9gag together!

        And you were saying altgag is different servers and if I want no restrictions I have to post local. But when I choose “local” on the main site, I only see posts posted @altgag. So now I’m a little confused. .

          Thanks for your feedback, it is much appreciated!

          By “messages” do you mean the Inbox? When you replied to me earlier, it shows “Pfeiffenstirra replied to you in Tips&Tricks”, along with your profile. It might just be a bug or an issue with my username. There have also been a few recent changes to how the site behaves on android browsers, but either way I’ll have a look at it.

          When it comes to saving comment drafts, it’s definitely something I’ll consider implementing, although on the mobile 9gag app my comment drafts aren’t being saved either, so I have never even considered it before.

          And the behaviour you’re seeing when switching to “local” posts is completely intentional. You can choose to either post on the local communities or remote lemmy.world server, which is currently used to populate the home feed due to the lack of content on our local communities. You can browse communities in the “Explore” menu. In the future, more communities will be added. You can think of Altgag like “Reddit” and communities like “subreddits”, except the whole platform is decentralized and interconnected with other independent servers.

          I have had some users assume that lemmy.world was somehow affiliated with 9gag or altgag and started being rude or didn’t follow the rules on those communities and got kicked out. This doesn’t happen when you post to our own communities, because we can review and moderate according to our own community guidelines.

          For now it doesn’t matter where you decide to post or comment, as long as you do!

            Really? 9gag didn’t save your draft comments in the app? Always has done with me. I’ve been in the same version that was years old, but recently 9gag forced me to update. But I just checked and the draft saving also works in the new version for me. As soon as I answer to a comment and start typing it is saved. If I leave this comment section and come back again, hit answer again, my already typed text appears again in my comment field.

              I think it’s a localization bug in the frontend. Try changing the language to English in Settings -> App -> Language and check if it works
